Mission
The Centennial Learning Center is an alternative school dedicated to helping students to discover their passions and develop the strong academic and life skills required for healthy, vibrant lives of learning, and positive participation in the community.
About Us
The Centennial Learning Center is an alternative school for 160 middle and high school students in the Centennial School District who are seeking a small, active and challenging educational alternative. CLC students apply their knowledge and develop a deep sense of civic responsibility as they acquire the academic and critical thinking skills necessary for college or a career. Founded in 1993, the CLC has a long history of offering a high-quality educational program.

- Emphasize depth over breadth
- Apply goals to all students
- Personalize teaching and learning
- Embrace the metaphor "student as worker"
- Require students to demonstrate mastery through exhibition
- Stress unanxious expectation, trust and decency
- Consider teachers as generalists with a commitment to the entire school
- Develop a building and financial plan that reflect CES principles
- Model democratic and equitable practices
School as Community
Common to all CLC programs is a strong sense of community. We actively build a strong school culture where students feel safe, included, and connected. Every student at CLC is assigned an advisor teacher. Students remain with their advisor teacher throughout their years at CLC. Advisor teachers help students set personal and educational goals, reflect on learning, choose classes, and track graduation credits. Advisor teachers also serve as parents' point of contact for the school.
The CLC offers several distinct programs designed to match the learning needs of students. All of our high school programs offer the opportunity to earn a high school diploma. The CLC is fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. To find out more about each program at the school, please see our Programs page.
